General description
If there is a malfunction in the electrical equipment of the automatic transmission, after turning the ignition key to the ON position, it lights up for 2 seconds. POWER indicator, and then flashes for 8 seconds. If there are no faults, the indicator lights up for 2 seconds and then goes out. Information about malfunctions is output from the memory after the start signal of the self-diagnosis mode. By blinking the POWER indicator, you can determine the location of the failed component.
Description of the operation of the self-diagnosis function
1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature.
2. Turn the ignition key to the ON position, then to the OFF position. Repeat twice, then turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
3. Turn on the AUTO mode and set the O/D switch to the ON position.
4. Move the selector lever to position P, turn the ignition key to the ON position, check if the light comes on for 2 seconds. POWER indicator.
5. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
6. Move the selector lever to position D.
7. Set the O/D switch to the OFF position.
8. Turn the ignition key to the floor. ON.
9. Move the selector lever to position 2.
10. Set the O/D switch to the ON position.
11. Move the selector lever to the floor. 1.
12. Set the O/D switch to the OFF position.
13. Press the accelerator pedal all the way down, then release it.
14. Read the fault codes by blinking the POWER indicator, self-diagnosis is completed.
Flashing Power indicator
The pulse of the faulty circuit has a long duration.
Erasing fault codes
Fault codes are stored in the memory of the control unit during vehicle operation. The state of the memory is not affected by the position of the ignition key. However, upon completion of the self-diagnosis procedure after turning the ignition key to the OFF position, the codes are erased from memory. It is also possible to erase fault codes from memory using CONSULT.
If flashing at a frequency of 4 Hz is repeated, then the backup power supply for the memory is faulty, in this case it is necessary to replace the automatic transmission control unit. This situation is also possible when the battery has not been used for a long time or when the battery has reached the end of its service life.
