CVT operation in emergency mode
If a malfunction occurs in the sensors, switches and solenoids listed below, the emergency operation of the CVT may be activated.
Secondary pulley speed sensor
In the event of a malfunction of this sensor, its signal is replaced by the throttle sensor signal. In addition, the inclusion of the sport mode is blocked, the movement occurs in the D range.
Primary pulley speed sensor
In the event of a malfunction of this sensor, its signal is replaced by the signal from the throttle sensor and the signal from the secondary pulley speed sensor. In addition, the inclusion of the sport mode is blocked, the movement occurs in the D range.
Throttle sensor
In the event of a malfunction of this sensor, the control unit uses the signals from the idle switch and from the wide open throttle switch and uses them to set the degree of throttle opening, see table.
Range switch
If the control unit receives two or more signals from the range switch, the control unit selects one of the positions D, N, L and R, depending on the priority determined within the block. If the control unit does not receive a signal at all, the movement occurs in the range D.
Oil temperature sensor
If the control unit receives an abnormal signal from this sensor, switching occurs in the conditions immediately preceding the receipt of the abnormal signal or in such a way that the engine speed is below 5000 / min.
Line pressure sensor
If the control unit receives an abnormal signal from this sensor, feedback pressure control stops. The pressure is adjusted based on the value obtained immediately before the abnormal signal.
Line pressure control solenoid
If the control unit receives an abnormal signal from this solenoid, it turns off and the maximum line pressure is set.
Torque Converter Clutch Lockup Solenoid
If the control unit receives an abnormal signal from this solenoid, it turns off and the torque converter lockup is removed.
Stepper motor
If the control unit receives an abnormal signal from this motor, the phase A-D coil of the motor is turned off, switching occurs in the conditions immediately preceding the receipt of the abnormal signal.
Engine speed signal
If the control unit receives an abnormal engine speed signal, the line pressure is controlled based on the degree of throttle opening. In addition, the blocking of the torque converter is removed.
