Air cleaner element
- Replacement interval: every 60,000 km.
Compression
1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature and shut it off.
2. Verify that there are no faults using CONSULT.
The CONSULT tester is used to determine the engine speed and troubleshooting by the time the work is completed, do not remove it until the work is completed.
3. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.
4. Remove the following parts.
Intercooler, engine cover, intercooler bracket.
5. To prevent fuel injection during measurements, remove the injection pump fuse (20A) from the fuse box located on the left side of the engine compartment.
6. Remove glow plugs from all cylinders.
Attention:
To prevent dirt and foreign particles from entering the engine, clean the area around the spark plugs before removing them.
Be careful when removing spark plugs can be broken.
Be careful not to damage the spark plugs when removing.
7. Install adapter (special tool) into the spark plug hole and connect it to a compression tester for diesel engines.
: 17,7-21,6 N-m (1.8-2.2 kg m)
8. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
9. Turn the engine over with the starter and record the highest compression gauge reading.
Compression pressure (at 200 rpm in min.):
- Standard: 3.1 MPa (32.0 kg/cm2)
- Limit: 2.5 MPa (25.0 kg/cm2)
- Maximum difference between cylinders: 0.49 MPa (5.0 kg/cm2)
If the engine does not develop the required speed, check the density of the electrolyte in the battery and repeat the measurement with a normally charged battery.
If the compression is below the limit, check the valve clearances and parts located around the combustion chamber (valves, valve seats, cylinder head gasket, piston rings, pistons, cylinder block top surface, cylinder head bottom surface, etc.) and then re-measure the compression.
10. Complete the work in the following sequence.
- (1) Turn the ignition key to position «OFF», disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
- (2) Install the glow plugs and parts removed in step 4.
- (3) Install the injection pump fuse (20A).
- (4) Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
- (5) Check that there is no indication on the CONSULT-II indicating a malfunction.
