Removing the ignition key
1. Set the selector lever to position P.
2. Turn the key to the LOCK position and remove it from the ignition switch.
Note:
If the selector lever is not in position P, turning the key will stop it in position 1. In this case, set the selector lever to position P, turn the key to the ON side, and then turn it to the LOCK position.
If turning the key sharply stops it in position 1, return it to the ON position, then slowly turn it to LOCK.
After turning off the engine, if the driver's door is opened without removing the key from the ignition, a chime will sound to remind you that the key has been left.
If the ignition key is in the ON position, the reminder will not sound.
If the ignition key is removed while the interior lamp switch is in the center position, the lamp will come on and go out after approximately 20 seconds.
