Steering wheel with four spokes
Attention:
Before proceeding with removal, turn the ignition key to the OFF position, disconnect both cables from the battery, and wait at least 3 minutes.
Carry out work from the side of the airbag module.
Be careful not to pinch the airbag module connector with the lower steering wheel pad during installation.
Unscrew special bolts with a TNZO wrench (common tool). Do not reuse special bolts, replace them with new ones.
When installing the airbag module, press down on the center of the horn trim and align the horn switch contacts (left and right 2 places).
While holding the pad pressed down, tighten the special bolts.
After installing the air bag module, check that the contact gap between the horn switch contacts is within the specified range, as shown in the figure.
After installation, check if the system is working properly by observing the airbag warning light.
If the airbag warning light comes on, use the self-diagnosis function or the CONSULT tester to clear the system memory.
If the airbag warning light stays on, troubleshoot the system. Repair defective components.
When replacing the airbag module after it has been deployed, check for deformation, damage, or cracks on the steering wheel. If necessary, replace the steering wheel assembly.
