2. Turn the connecting flange to check for runout. The measured value must not exceed 0.13 mm.
3. Install a test indicator on the inside of the connecting flange (by hole diameter).
4. Rotate the connecting flange to check the runout. The measured value must not exceed 0.19 mm.
5. If the amount of runout is out of range, before adjusting the rear final drive, do the following:
- Check the runout by changing the relative position between the connecting flange and the pinion shaft in 90 degree increments. Find a position at which the beating will be minimal.
- If the runout value is still not correct even after changing the relative position, replace the connecting flange with a new one.
- If the runout value is still not correct even after replacing the connecting flange, the possible cause is a malfunction of the pinion shaft and the electrically controlled clutch or bearings.
