2. Apply the recommended grease to the splines of the clutch disc and gearbox input shaft.
Attention. Lubrication of the indicated surfaces must be mandatory, otherwise noise, incomplete disengagement or damage to the clutch may occur. Too much lubrication can cause the clutch to slip or the clutch to jerk when starting the vehicle. Lubrication of the concentric release plate seals can result in clutch fluid leaks. Any excess grease must be removed.
3. Install the clutch disc using a suitable disc centering tool.
4. Install the clutch pressure plate. Install clutch pressure plate mounting bolts.
5. Tighten the clutch pressure plate bolts evenly in two stages with the specified tightening torques in the sequence shown in the figure.
A. Clutch disc centering tool.
B. HR16DE, K9K and M9R engines.
C. MR20DE engine.
6. Install the gearbox assembly on the vehicle (see chapter «Transmission»).
