Take off
1. Remove the engine protection tray.
2. Using a special key (KV10115801) remove the oil filter.
HR16DE engine
Engine MR20DE:
1. Lower oil pan.
A. Oil filter wrench.
Note. Arrow xkpzylvplt front of the engine.
Attention.
- A bypass valve is located in the oil filter. Use only genuine Nissan filter.
- Be careful not to get burned (oil may be hot).
- Before removing the filter, prepare a sufficient amount of rags to remove spilled oil.
- Avoid getting oil on the drive belts.
- Completely remove the oil that has got on the engine and on the car.
Installation
1. Remove dirt that has fallen on the mounting surface of the oil filter.
2. Lubricate the contact line of the new filter seal with engine oil.
3. Screw in the oil filter by hand until it touches the mounting surface, then tighten it 2/3 of a turn (A). You can also tighten the filter with a tightening torque of 17.7 N.m (14.4 N.m for diesel engine).
