2. Disconnect the water hoses from the electronic throttle actuator, plug the hose holes with plugs to prevent coolant from escaping.
Attention.
- Perform this step on a cold engine.
- Do not allow coolant to get on the imported belts.
3. Remove the oil dipstick.
Attention. Close the hole in the dipstick guide tube to prevent foreign material from entering.
4. Remove the electronic throttle control actuator.
Attention.
- Be careful when handling the electronic throttle control actuator, avoid impacts.
- Do not disassemble or adjust the electronic throttle control actuator.
5. Disconnect the evaporative emission system wiring connector and hose from the EVAP carbon filter purge volume control solenoid valve.
6. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the intake manifold.
7. Remove the front (1) and back (2) intake manifold mounts.
8. Turn away bolts of fastening from edges to the center and to remove an inlet collector from the engine.
9. If necessary, remove the solenoid valve from the intake manifold.
Attention. Be careful when handling the EVAP carbon filter purge volume control solenoid valve to avoid impact.
10. If necessary, remove the intake manifold center support from the cylinder head.
Note. The intake manifold center support acts as a guide when installing the intake manifold.
11. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Install the gaskets on the intake manifold, aligning the tabs (A) gaskets with intake manifold groove.
Place intake manifold in installation position.
Attention. Check that the oil dipstick guide is not disconnected from the cooling system inlet port retaining clip due to snagging on the intake manifold.
Tighten the bolts in the sequence shown in the figure.
Note. The arrow in the figure points to the front of the engine.
Install the front and rear intake manifold supports.
Tighten the electronic throttle control actuator bolts evenly in a diagonal sequence over several passes.
Perform throttle closed position learning procedure ("Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning") after repair work, during which the electric throttle actuator wire connector was disconnected.
Perform throttle closed position learning procedure ("Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning") and learning the amount of air intake at idle ("Idle Air Volume Learning") after repair work on replacing the electronic throttle control actuator.
