Attention.
- Park the vehicle on a level, hard surface.
- Place chocks front and rear under the rear wheels of the vehicle.
- Install the lifting eyes described in the spare parts catalog, if not supplied with the vehicle.
- Strictly follow the instructions in this manual. Avoid activities not covered by this manual.
- Do not start work until the cooling system and exhaust system have completely cooled down.
- If work is performed outside the engine compartment, observe the precautions described in the relevant chapter for the component or system in that area.
- Use only approved lifting points to raise the vehicle.
- To raise the vehicle, use a two-point or full-height lift. If for any reason it is necessary to use a conventional jack, it is necessary to install support stands under the vehicle before starting work.
General description of work
Remove the engine and transmission and assembly from the vehicle down. Disconnect engine and gearbox.
Preparatory work
Remove the following parts:
- Battery ground cable.
- Protective pallet of the engine.
- Right side mudguard.
- Left and right front wheels.
- Right headlight headlight and assembly.
Engine compartment
1. Drain the coolant from the engine.
Attention. Drain the coolant only after the engine has cooled down.
2. Remove the engine cover.
3. Remove the air filter housing and air intake (see chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
4. Remove the upper radiator hose (see chapter "Cooling system").
5. Remove expansion tank with hoses (see chapter "Cooling system").
6. Remove the supply and return fuel lines.
7. Remove the vacuum hose.
8. Remove the turbocharger duct.
9. Disconnect heater hoses.
10. Disconnect the wiring from the engine compartment from the engine side and take it to the side for easier work.
11. Disconnect the electrical wiring and clutch hose from the gearbox side.
12. Disconnect the drain hose from the gearbox side.
13. To disconnect cables of a choice and a gear change.
14. Loosen wire bracket.
15. Disconnect all vacuum hoses on the body side and air hoses on the engine side.
16. Disconnect the supply and return fuel hoses and plug them to prevent fuel from escaping.
Under the car
1. Loosen and unscrew the drive shaft locknut.
2. Remove the ABS sensor from the brake caliper.
3. To turn away the bottom bolts of a rack.
4. Remove the right and left drive shafts.
5. Remove the attachment drive belt.
6. Remove the air conditioning compressor from the engine without disconnecting the pipelines from it, tie the compressor to the body with a rope or wire to remove and unload the hoses connected to the compressor.
7. Remove the front exhaust pipe.
8. Remove rear engine mounting bracket.
Removing
1. Install lifting eye (1) engine front right on the cylinder head, and the lifting eye (2) rear left of the cylinder head.
2. Using a power lift truck or similar device, securely support the engine and gearbox from below.
Attention. Place a block of wood or something similar on the jack as a support surface and fix it in a fully stable position.
3. To turn away bolts of fastening of the engine at the left and on the right.
4. Remove the engine and transmission assembly from the vehicle downwards by carefully lowering the support trolley.
Attention.
- During operation, make sure that no parts of the engine come into contact with the car body.
- Beforehand, and then also during lowering of the engine, be convinced that all connectors of wires are disconnected.
- In the process of removing the engine, take all possible measures to ensure the stability of the vehicle, the center of gravity of which is shifting at this time.
- If necessary, support the vehicle with a jack or similar at the rear.
Disconnection
Attention. While working, support the engine securely by placing a block of wood under the engine and transmission oil pans, and suspend the engine from a garage winch.
1. Remove the starter.
2. Separate the engine and gearbox.
3. Lift the engine with a winch and disconnect it from the gearbox.
