Every two years or every 40,000 km (what comes first).
Through certain specifications intervals of time / mileage, the transmission fluid must be changed. Since the fluid remains hot for quite a long time after the engine is turned off, do this procedure only after the engine has completely cooled down.
Before starting work, purchase the transmission fluid specified in Section Types and volumes of lubricants and fluids used.
Other necessary tools for this procedure are supports for fixing the car in a raised position, a drainage container with a volume of at least 7 liters, newspapers and clean rags.
1. Jack up the vehicle and place it securely on jack stands.
2. Remove the drain plug on the side of the gearbox and drain the fluid into a clean container.
3. Thoroughly clean any metal particles from the magnet, if present.
4. Fill the gearbox as described above. The total volume of oil filled into the gearbox is 7.0 liters, however, a certain amount of oil remains in the gearbox, which means that the gearbox should be filled slowly until the fluid level on the dipstick is correct.
5. Lower the vehicle and add the required amount of fluid through the filler neck (see Section Checking the automatic transmission fluid level).
6. Set the transmission to "R" (parking) and apply the parking brake, then start the engine to idle without depressing the gas pedal.
7. Move the selector lever through all gears and set it back to "R" (parking). Check fluid level.
8. After the first few rides, check the underside of the vehicle for fluid leaks.
