Warning! Gasoline is highly flammable, so special precautions must be taken when working on any component of the fuel system. Do not smoke or approach the work area with an open flame or an uncovered carrier. Do not carry out such work in garages equipped with natural gas heaters (such as water heaters, dryers, etc.). The work area must be well ventilated. If gasoline comes in contact with your skin, wash it off immediately with soap and water. Wear safety goggles and have a fire extinguisher handy when doing any work on the fuel system.
1. On models with a fuel injection system, relieve the pressure in the fuel system (see chapter Power supply and exhaust systems).
2. The fuel filter is located in the engine compartment on a bulkhead or under the vehicle next to the fuel tank.
3. On some models, the filter is located in such a way that when the hoses are disconnected, fuel can flow directly to the electrical connectors. Therefore, for safety reasons, disconnect the negative battery cable before starting work.
Attention! If your car's radio is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have entered the correct code before disconnecting the battery.
4. Place a container or a piece of rag under the fuel filter to collect spilled fuel. If you have suitable hose clamps, secure the inlet and outlet hoses with them.
5. Disconnect the hoses and give the screws / nuts of the bracket, then remove the filter and, where it is, the bracket assembly.
To replace the fuel filter, disconnect the hoses (A), then give the nut (IN) and detach the filter from the bracket (shown for fuel injection models).
6. Detach the filter from the bracket.
7. Install in reverse order. Make sure the arrows on the filter point in the direction of fuel flow.
