Rotation can be done either through the Schedule of ongoing maintenance intervals, or when signs of uneven tread wear appear. However, remember that if you successfully rotate all four wheels, you will eventually have to change all tires at the same time. Since this procedure requires lifting the vehicle off the ground and removing the wheels, check the operation of the brakes at the same time (see Section Checking the brake system).
Note. Even if you are not going to rotate, at least check the tightness of the wheel bolts.
It is recommended to perform rotation according to a special scheme, so that the direction of their rotation does not change.
Wheel rotation scheme.
1. Refer to the information in Section Jacking and towing to properly raise the vehicle and change the wheel.
2. The vehicle should be winched or jacked up with all four wheels off the ground. Make sure the car is securely fastened!
3. After completing the rotation procedure, check and adjust the tire pressure and be sure to check the tightness of the wheel bolts.
