Schedule of ongoing maintenance

The suggested recommendations assume that the owner performs the car maintenance procedures independently, in contrast to the work performed at the service station of the NISSAN dealership. While this schedule is based on manufacturer's recommendations, intervals between most procedures can be shortened at the discretion of the vehicle owner, such as checking and changing lubricants and fluids at intervals that maximize engine or drive life. In addition, if the owner of the car is interested in keeping it in a state of maximum readiness for use in case of a possible resale, many procedures can be performed more frequently. We only welcome such an initiative.

The initial service and inspection of a new car must be carried out at the service station of the dealer branch of the company in order to fulfill the conditions of the warranty obligation. In most cases, this verification is free of charge (For further information, please contact the dealership of the company).

Weekly or every 400 km (what comes first)

1. Check the engine oil level (Chapter Checking fluid levels)

2. Check engine coolant level (Chapter Checking fluid levels)

3. Check the brake fluid level (Chapter Checking fluid levels)

4. Check your windshield washer fluid (Chapter Checking fluid levels)

5. Check tire condition and pressure (Chapter Checking the condition of tires and their pressure)

Twice a year or every 10,000 km (what comes first)

All of the above, plus:

1. Change engine oil and oil filter (Chapter Changing the engine oil and oil filter)


2. Check the fluid level of the power steering system (Chapter Checking the fluid level of the power steering system)

3. Check tires and rotate them if necessary (Chapter Wheel rotation)

4. Check the AT fluid level (Chapter Checking the automatic transmission fluid level)

5. Check the condition of the hoses in the engine compartment (Chapter Check of a condition and replacement of hoses of an impellent compartment)

6. Check the condition and adjust the tension of the drive belts (Chapter Checking the condition, adjusting the tension and replacing the drive belts)

Annually or every 20,000 km

All of the above, plus:

1. Check and service your battery (Chapter Battery check, care and charging)

2. Check spark plugs (Chapter Checking and replacing spark plugs)

3. Check and, if necessary, replace the BB wires, the cover of the ignition distributor and its slider (Chapter Checking and replacing spark plug wires, cover and distributor slider)

4. Check the manual transmission oil level and top up if necessary (Chapter Checking the oil level in the manual gearbox)

5. Check and, if necessary, adjust the valve clearances (Chapter Checking and adjusting valve clearances)

6. Check the condition and lubricate the throttle actuator (Chapter Checking and lubricating the throttle linkage)

7. Replace the air filter (Chapter Replacing the air filter element)

8. Check the functioning of the fuel system (Chapter Fuel system check)


9. Check the cooling system (Chapter Checking the functioning of the cooling system)

12. Check the condition of the drive shaft covers (Chapter Check of a condition of protective covers of power shafts)

Every two years or every 40,000 km (what comes first)

All of the above, plus:

1. Replace AT transmission fluid and filter (Chapter Transmission Fluid Replacement)

2. Drain, flush and fill the cooling system (Chapter Draining, flushing and filling the cooling system)

3. Replace spark plugs (Chapter Checking and replacing spark plugs)

4. Check/replace BB spark plug wires (Chapter Checking and replacing spark plug wires, cover and distributor slider)

5. Replace the fuel filter (Chapter Fuel filter replacement)

6. Replace manual transmission oil (Chapter Manual transmission oil change)

7. Check the EVAP system where available.

8. Replace the brake fluid with subsequent pumping (see chapter Brake system)
