Maverick XL Hardtop (Hardtop)
This manual covers the Japanese-made Nissan CQ Patrol and the Ford DA Maverick, first introduced to the market in 1988. The series is represented by the Hardtop models (Hardtop) short base and Wagon (Station Wagon) with a long base. The Patrol series is also represented by a mini-truck (Cab chassis).
Patrol Ti Wagon (Station Wagon)
The Patrol RX model was launched on the market in November 1993 and is completed at a mid-level between DX and ST.
In terms of equipment, the Patrol series is represented by the Hardtop XL and ST models and the Station wagon DX, ST and Ti with a 3.0 liter engine. The mini-truck was released in only one version.
Patrol Mini truck (Cab Chassis)
The Maverick is available in Hardtop and XL and XLT and Wagon XL and standard trims.
All models with the exception of the 3.0L Patrol series are equipped with a 4.2L petrol engine with a contact ignition system and a vacuum clutch boost. Patrol 3.0 L models are equipped with electronic ignition and a standard clutch without boost.
Patrol ST Wagon (Station Wagon)
5-speed manual transmission (RKPP), or 4-speed automatic transmission (AT) connected to a 2-speed transfer case. Rear wheel drive is via a conventional differential, a limited slip differential, or a locking differential. The driving front axle is equipped with a conventional type differential and free rotation hubs.
1994 Patrol RX
All Hardtop and Station wagon models are equipped with coil spring suspension, while Mini-trucks use leaf spring suspension. On some models, in order to provide the possibility of increasing suspension travel, an adjustable type rear stabilizer bar is installed. Power steering is standard on this class of vehicle.
In the brake system equipped with a vacuum booster, ventilated disc brakes of the front wheels and disc or drum brakes of the rear wheels are used.
