The clutch pedal is connected to the master cylinder, which, together with the hydraulic reservoir, is mounted on the bulkhead of the engine compartment on the driver's side. When the pedal is depressed, the force pushes the hydraulic fluid forward into the slave cylinder. The piston in the working cylinder drives the clutch fork, which moves the release bearing. The release bearing rests against the heel, as a result of which the action of the diaphragm spring weakens and the clutch is disengaged (the input shaft is disconnected from the engine).
As the friction disc wears, the gap between the friction and pressure plate is selected automatically.
Attention! Clutch parts are difficult to access, so every time you remove the engine or transmission, carefully inspect the clutch discs and release bearing. Replace these parts if necessary. The friction disc must be replaced without fail, regardless of its condition.
