6.8 Pressing out the inner bearing race
1. Brass beard
9. Turn away bolts and remove a nave from a disk of a brake (Ch. 10).
10. Press out the outer bearing with a press, remove the oil deflector.
11. Wash all parts.
12. Lubricate the outer bearing race, apply grease to the hub (photo) and press into the bearing into the hub, resting against the outer ring. Fill the center space of the hub with grease. Install the outer seal.
6.12 Put grease in the places indicated by hatching
13. Install the disk.
14. Lubricate and press in the inner bearing.
15. Tighten the hub nut to the specified torque.
16. Check up freedom of rotation of a nave.
17. Lubricate and install the inner seal
Adjustment
Attention! A special wrench is used to loosen and tighten the nut (Ch. 8)
18. Tighten the nut to the specified torque.
19. Loosen the nut and check the play, which should be zero.
20. Rotate the wheel in both directions.
21. Determine the preload in the bearings. To do this, by hooking a dynamometer on the upper pin, determine the force A under which the wheel will begin to rotate. Next, tighten the nut by 15-30°and install the locking plate on the nut. Turn the wheel in both directions. Hook the dynamometer on the lower pin, determine the force B under which the wheel will begin to rotate. The preload is equal to the difference V-A.
22. Repeat the procedure and achieve a normal tightness in the bearings.
23. Install the retaining ring in the groove of the nut.
24. Install the rest of the parts in reverse order.
