2. Put a mark on the distributor housing under the output of the spark plug wire of the 1st cylinder.
3. Remove the distributor cap.
4. Turn the crankshaft so that the mark on the pulley is aligned with the pointer (photo).

5. If the slider points to the mark made on the distributor housing, then the piston of the 1st cylinder is at TDC of the compression stroke. Otherwise, tighten the crankshaft one full turn clockwise (360°) and set the piston of the 1st cylinder to the TDC of the compression stroke.

6. Now you can set the other pistons to the TDC of the compression stroke by turning the crankshaft 120°and observing the order of operation of the cylinders.
