Attention! The described operations apply to brakes equipped with both single-piston and block brakes (two-piston) cylinders.
1. Remove pads.
2. Unscrew the hose fitting on the caliper (photo), disconnect and plug the hose.
3.2 Loosen the bolt and disconnect the fitting. Copper gaskets to be replaced
3. Turn away the top bolt of a support and remove a support from a disk.
4. Clean the caliper in a safe manner.
5. Carefully remove the pistons with compressed air (photo), after wrapping the cylinder with a rag.
3.5 Removing the piston from the cylinder with compressed air
6. Carefully remove the cuff from the cylinder (photo).
3.6 Removing the cuff
1. Caliper; 2. Groove in the cylinder; 3. Cuff; 4. Plastic tweezers
7. Turn out the union for prorolling, get fingers and covers from a support.
8. Wash and dry the parts.
9. Check up a condition of pistons and an internal surface of the cylinder. If noticeable damage is found, wear of the coating of the part, replace it. If corrosion is found on the bolts, replace the bolts.
10. When assembling, lubricate the piston and cylinder with brake fluid, install a new cuff (photo).
3.10 Fitting the cuff
1. Caliper; 2. Cuff; 3. Groove
11. Put a cover on the piston, laying it in the groove (photo).
3.11 Fitting the piston boot
12. Insert the piston into the cylinder without distortions, then, pressing down, sink the piston all the way into the bottom of the cylinder (photo).
3.12 Installing the piston in the cylinder
1. Cylinder; 2. Piston; 3. Cuff; 4. Case
13. Install the boot on the cylinder.
14. Screw on the bleed screw
15. Lubricate the fingers with silicone grease and install with new covers in the caliper.
16. Further operations are carried out in reverse order. Remove air from the hydraulic drive of the dismantled brake.
