4. Remove the gearbox shafts and differential from the clutch housing as described below.
For RS5F30A:
Detach the bearing holder by unscrewing the three fixing screws. (One of the screws has a torx head and will require the appropriate tool to remove it.) Remove the primary and secondary shafts at the same time, lightly tapping with a plastic hammer on the end of the primary shaft from the side of the clutch. Remove the reverse idle gear and differential.
For RS5F31A:
Remove the output shaft and differential. Turn away bolts of fastening of the holder of the bearing of an input shaft. Remove the input shaft with bearing retainer and reverse idle gear by lightly tapping the end of the clutch side cotton with a plastic mallet.
WARNINGS:
- Only remove the output shaft straight so as not to damage the oil passage on the clutch housing side.
- Do not remove the reverse idle gear shaft so as not to weaken its fit in the crankcase.
- When removing the input shaft, be careful not to scratch the edge of the oil seal with the splines.
5. Remove the oil pocket, ball, spring and detent bushing.
6. Drive the retaining pin out of the stem selection; gears, then remove the stem, selector lever and locking bracket.
- When removing the pin, select a position where it does not interfere with the clutch housing.
