Accumulator battery
Use only 12V battery.
Do not disconnect or connect battery wires while the engine is running.
The engine control unit
Do not disassemble the engine control unit.
Do not apply excessive force when turning the diagnostic mode selector.
When measuring ECM signals with a tester, do not short the probes. A short circuit can damage the unit's power transistors.
Disconnecting the battery resets the ECM's memory and will use the preset values when powered on. The operation of the engine may change slightly, which is not a malfunction and should not be a reason to replace parts.
Nozzles
Do not disconnect the injector connectors while the engine is running.
Do not apply battery voltage directly to the injectors.
Injection parts
Be careful when handling the mass air flow sensor to avoid damaging it.
Do not disassemble the mass air flow sensor or use any chemicals to clean it.
Do not disassemble the IACV-AAC valve.
Even a small leak in the intake tract can lead to serious problems.
Protect the camshaft angle sensor from impact.
Engine starting
Do not press the accelerator pedal when starting the engine.
Unnecessarily do not increase the engine speed immediately after starting.
Do not increase the engine speed immediately before stopping it.
Installation of radio equipment
When installing a CB radio or mobile phone, observe the following:
- The antenna should be located as far away from the ECM as possible.
- The antenna feed must be located at least 20 cm from the wires related to the electronic control system, and not run parallel to them for a long distance.
- The antenna and feeder should be adjusted to minimize the standing wave ratio.
- The body of the radio station must be connected to the ground of the body.
Fuel pump
Do not turn on the fuel pump if there is no fuel in the hoses.
Tighten the hose clamps to the specified torque
Electrical connectors
Fasten the connectors securely. A bad connection can cause the voltage across the coil and capacitor to surge, damaging the integrated circuits.
Keep the ECM harness at least 10cm away from adjacent wires to avoid interference.
Keep moisture away from the connectors and parts of the electronic control system.
Before disconnecting the connectors, turn off the ignition and disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
