WARNINGS:
- When removing the water pump, be careful not to let coolant come into contact with the drive chain and drive belts.
- The water pump is beyond repair and must be grounded as an assembly.
- After installing the water pump, secure the hoses with clamps and pressurize the system.
Removal - GA engines
1. Drain the coolant from the radiator and cylinder block.
2. Remove the A/C compressor, power steering pump and alternator drive belts.
3. Remove the water pump pulley.
4. Remove the water pump.
Removal - SR Engine
1. Drain the coolant from the radiator and cylinder block.
2. Remove the right front wheel and engine side mudguard.
3. Remove drive belts.
4. Remove the front engine mount.
5. Remove the water pump.
Removal - CD Engines
1. Drain the coolant from the radiator and cylinder block.
2. Remove the upper radiator hose, toothed belt covers, front engine mount bracket and toothed belt.
3. Remove the tension and intermediate roller and toothed belt, as well as the lower rear cover.
4. Remove the water pump.
Examination
Check for signs of corrosion on the water pump housing.
The pump shaft must rotate freely, without jamming and uneven resistance caused by increased axial play.
Installation
Remove old sealant from water pump and cylinder block. Use gasoline to remove traces of sealant. The sealant in the grooves must also be completely removed.
Apply a bead of sealant to the water pump flange as shown.
