SA engines
Removing the thermostat does not have any features and is carried out in accordance with the figure.
When installing, apply sealant to the inlet flange as shown in the illustration.
SR engine
1. Drain the coolant.
2. Remove the lower radiator hose.
3. Remove an inlet branch pipe and take out the thermostat.
4. Install the thermostat with the vibration valve or air release valve facing up.
After installing the thermostat, run the engine for a few minutes and check for leaks.
Be careful not to spill coolant into the engine compartment.
CD engines
Removal and installation are carried out in accordance with the figure. The thermostat must be installed in the housing with the vibration or air release valve facing up.
Examination
1. Check the tightness of the thermostat valve at normal temperature.
2. Check thermostat start temperature and valve travel.
3. Check if the thermostat closes when the temperature falls 5°C below the opening start temperature.
