2. Manual transmission: Set the gear lever to the position "N" (neutral) and, including the starter, press the clutch pedal to the stop.
Automatic transmission: Set the shift lever to the position "R" (parking) or "N" (neutral) (preferable "R").
The starter is designed in such a way that it does not work in any other selector positions in which movement is possible.
3. Start the engine by turning the ignition key to the "START". In this case, the foot must be removed from the accelerator pedal. After the engine has started, release the key. If after starting the engine immediately stalled, then repeat the described procedure.
- In extremely cold or hot weather, starting the engine may be difficult. In this case, the start should be made with the accelerator pedal depressed.
- In summer, when starting an engine that has been switched off for more than 30 minutes, keep the accelerator pedal fully depressed.
ATTENTION!
- The duration of continuous operation of the starter should not exceed 10 seconds. If the engine does not start within this time, wait 10 seconds before turning the starter on again. Continuous operation will result in starter failure.
- In cases where it is necessary to use an external battery to start the engine, carefully follow the instructions and precautions outlined in chapter "In the event of an accident".
4. Warm up the engine. After starting, let the engine idle for at least 30 seconds. Start at a moderate speed, especially in cold weather.
