The pretensioner is packaged in a retractable seat belt reel. Pretensioner belts are used in the same way as conventional seat belts.
When the belt tensioning system is activated, a loud noise is heard and smoke is emitted. This smoke is harmless and does not indicate a fire. It should not be inhaled. as it can cause irritation and spasms of the throat.
Carefully
Once activated, the belt tensioning system cannot be reused. It must be replaced together with the inertial coil module.
If the tensioner fails to engage in a frontal collision, have the tensioner inspected and replaced if necessary by a Nissan dealer.
It is not allowed to make any changes to the design of the module or the wiring of the tensioner. This may lead to its accidental operation or failure. Any obstruction or tampering with the tensioner may result in serious injury.
Maintenance work around and on the tensioner module may only be carried out by an authorized Nissan dealer.
When selling the car to another person, inform him about the presence of the tensioner and point to the appropriate section in the Owner's Manual.
If the tensioner needs to be removed or the machine needs to be scrapped, contact an Authorized Nissan Dealer first. The rules for dismantling the tensioner are defined in the relevant "Operating Instructions" Nissan company. Incorrect dismantling of the device can lead to injury.
