Starter device

Three types of starters are installed on Nissan Almera cars: direct drive, geared and planetary geared. Sxxx starters are made by Hitachi, Mxxx starters are made by Mitsubishi. It is not possible to cover all the variety of designs within the framework of this publication. At the end of this section, as an example, the design of the Mitsubishi M0T80285 starter with planetary gear is shown, which is installed on left-hand drive models with a GA engine for Europe from 04.96. Bolt tightening torques are fairly typical and can be referenced when working with other types of starters.
