The history of the «Nissan» company dates back to 1911, when Masujiro Hashimoto founded the «Kaishinsha Motor Car Works», located in one of the Tokyo districts. In 1914, the company produced its first car, called «DAT» which was formed from the first letters of the names of investors - Den Kenjiro, Aoyama Rokuro and TAkeuchi Meitaro. The company was renamed «Kaishinsha Motorcar Co., Ltd.» in 1918 and then «DAT Jidosha & Co., Ltd.» in 1925. At that time, the company produced cars and trucks, the latter occupying a much larger share. In 1926, «DAT» merged with «Jitsuyo Jidosha Seizo», which also made cars and trucks.
In 1931, «DAT» produced a small passenger car, the «Datsun Type 11», which was the first step towards the famous «Nissan Bluebird», which made company as a global automaker.
In 1928, Yoshisuke Aikawa founded the «Nihon Sangyo» Holding Company. The name «Nissan» was first used in the 1930s as an abbreviation used on the Tokyo Stock Exchange for Nihon Sangyo. That company was «Nissan Zaibatsu», which included «Tobata Casting» and «Hitachi». «Zaibatsu» is a Japanese term and means conglomerate. At the time, «Nissan» controlled foundries and auto parts businesses, but did not make cars until 1933. The conglomerate eventually grew to 74 firms and became the fourth largest in Japan during World War II.
In 1931, «DAT» joined «Tobata Casting», and in 1933 they merged and this became the beginning of the production of «Nissan» cars. In 1934, the name «Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.» appeared, but until 1983 the name «Datsun» was used for cars. In 1935, the construction of a plant in Yokohama was completed. Since 1938, the production of passenger cars was stopped, so trucks and other equipment were required for the needs of the army. The production of passenger cars was resumed only in 1947 with the «Datsun DA».
Currently, the company produces a huge name of cars of all classes and for any picky car enthusiast. These are family cars Almera, Maxima, Examples, Sunny, Teana/Altima, minivan Serena and Note, modern crossovers Murano, Qashqai, X-Trail, full-fledged SUVs Pathfinder and Patrol, and many other vehicle names and their appointments.
Nissan vehicles are highly reliable, and this has been proven in practice by operating millions of vehicles that have traveled many millions of kilometers over many years in completely different climatic conditions. But even reliable cars require maintenance and repair. If you are a wealthy person and live in a large regional city, then you will most likely choose Nissan maintenance at certified service centers. But in small towns they are not available, so you have to either go to another city or contact local specialists at your own peril and risk. You can also repair your Nissan yourself, but this is if you have the space, tools, desire and locksmith skills. You also need knowledge about the car and instructions for performing operations. On our site you will find repair manuals for Nissan cars most common in America.
